American Interactive Media, Inc. appoints Peter B.Yunich as Chief Executive Officer


Cherry Hill, N.J., Jan 29, 1997 - American Interactive Media, Inc. (AIM-OTC), a rising factor in the bundling of Internet service, announced today the appointment of Peter B. Yunich as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.

Commenting on the announcement, Michael Salaman, President, said, "Securing the services and focus of an executive like Peter Yunich, with both experience and stature in the electronic publishing industry will go a long way to ensure that AIM will continue to meet its plans for growth and diversification."

Mr. Yunich, most recently President of Simon & Schuster Interactive, has been cited as one of the most influential executives in the electronic publishing industry.

Mr. Yunich also has been widely credited with both creating and implementing the vision that has positioned SSI in the forefront of technologically innovative publishers having organized the distribution of many well known CD-ROM franchises including Star Trek, Richard Scarry and Tom Clancy.

For his part, Mr. Yunich, who was also an executive director with AT&T, said that, "I believe American Interactive Media is the perfect vehicle for realizing the new publishing paradigm. AIM will combine innovative technology for set-top delivery of proprietary content and services through the television, as well as, new "push" technology to deliver that same content to both desk-top and set-top and a revolutionary approach to establishing a broad user base through vertical and direct marketing."

According to Mr. Yunich, the result will be,"...the first fully integrated Internet technology, service and content publisher."

Mr. Yunich most recently served as the president of Simon & Schuster Interactive, the electronic publishing arm of Viacom International. Before becoming president, Mr. Yunich was senior vice president and chief information officer, responsible for technology strategy and all back-office operations, including systems, customer service and warehouses worldwide. Mr. Yunich was with Simon & Schuster Interactive from July 1988 until he came to AIM.

From 1987 to 1988, Yunich was president and chief executive officer for Global Transaction Services Co. which was a joint venture company formed between AT&T and the Telerate division of Dow Jones & Company to build and deploy world-wide, a screen based, foreign currency trading system to replace the telephone. Prior to that, he was executive director at AT&T Corporation in Morristown, NJ, in charge of vertical business development and project management for the newly integrated AT&T Communications/Information Systems' Special Markets Unit.

Mr. Yunich holds a masters degree from The Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration and a bachelor degree in Classical Greek and Latin from Brown University.
